Lewis has established a planning career across Sydney and London, which spans well over twenty years. He has enjoyed engaging his interest in planning through a diverse and complex mix of residential, commercial and industrial projects from metropolitan fringes to historic inner urban environments, including the management of Development Control for Greenwich Maritime; a UNESCO World Heritage listed site. More recently he was part of a strategic planning team representing the Planning Institute of Australia in Colombo which provided policy development assisting in preparing Development Plans for Tsunami ravaged parts of the Western Province of Sri Lanka.

His extensive experience in Local Government includes senior planning and management roles across Woollahra, Waverley, South Sydney and Drummoyne Councils in Sydney in addition to similar roles in Greenwich, Lambeth and Enfield Councils in London.

Many projects Lewis manages, involves the Land and Environment Court. He has participated in court proceedings as an expert witness on numerous planning related matters. Lewisís experience and qualifications also encompasses Heritage and Built Conservation which enables him to prepare Heritage Impact Statements for sites involving a varying number of Heritage issues.

Lewis is a member of the Planning Institute of Australia which requires regular continuing professional development and has also recently completed all necessary planning practice courses enabling recognition as a Certified Practising Planner.
